As our visitors can gather from the top page, there were a number of AIC related events recently. So, I went to Akiba this weekend to take a look at how things are going. First stop was the gallery of "Sonoda Kenichi's World" at Akiba Place, "Art Jeuness".
There were some people in the gallery who talked about purchasing the art work of Mr. Sonoda. The exhibits shown in the gallery are very cool and most of them are from earlier works like GallForce and Bubblegum Crisis. I hope that someday the same exhibition will be held outside of Japan, since I am pretty sure fans will be very impressed by his wonderful art.

The second stop was the latest anime only theater, the "Oriental Akiba Comic Theater".(Thanks to the theater generously provided us the images)

According to the owner of the theater he wanted to have an open space that all the anime fans can come to. And so the facilities include a free HOTSPOT cafe, an open drinking bar(200yen/all you can drink) and a very cool mini theater to present anime works with AWSOME stereo system. I highly recommend visiting this place if you have the chance and are in Akihabara. Its simply a space for people to hang out, even if you are just tired of walking and want to find a spot to rest your feet.
